This section explains what Home Office travel documents you may be able to obtain if you need to travel outside the United Kingdom but are unable to use a passport issued by your own country.
You can apply to us for a travel document in certain special circumstances. We issue different types of travel document depending on those circumstances and also on your status in the United Kingdom.

You should not make any arrangements to travel until you have received your travel document. We will not give priority to applications because you wish to travel on a certain date, unless you provide evidence of a medical emergency or a family funeral.
